Home Sight Seeing Tariff Reservation

All around the resort, the tea, coffee, cardamom and pepper plantations remind us that we are in the heartland of the spice capital of the world. For a closer look, any number of specimens of these plants can be seen inside the resort property itself, and a well-kept vegetable farm with all varieties of endemic vegetables is close by.
The Camelot Trekking Pinnacle, a special trekking spot up 1000 meters, above the property, can be reached after 4 hours of arduous climb. But the effort is worth, if the climate is favorable, as the viewpoint will give you a birds-eye view of the high ranges all around, and even a distant view of Kochi city, the 'Queen of the Arabian Sea'. For the long trek to the Camelot Trekking Pinnacle and for jungle safaris, necessary accessories and medicines will be supplied.
The Camelot Rock View Point, within the property, is just 150 meters up along a longer trekking route. From this point you can see 9 estate mountains: Kannimala, Rajamalai, Kallar, Nallathanny, Nyayamakad, Vagavarai, Silent Valley, Parvathy and Lekshmi. You can also clearly see Anamudi the highest peak south of the Himalayas.

The resort has its own micro hydroelectric power source and water supply. The natural clear mineral water collected from a perennial stream, filtered and supplied hygienically is safe and tasty. Bottled mineral water is also bought in sufficient quantities and stocked. But, mind you, no TV or newspapers will be available, except on specific demand from the clients, as they might bring you down with a thud from the heights of solitary seclusion that will revitalize you for years to come.
It is a narrow stretch of land flanked on one side by the Arabian Sea and on the other side by the Western Ghat mountain ranges. Palm-fringed backwaters, scenic beaches, misty mountains, evergreen rain forests, gushing streams and waterfalls, all make this ancient spice capital of the world the most sought-after tourist destination.

Just wandering in and around the resort premises, you can sight dozens of rare and endangered species of flora and fauna. Animals like elephants, bison, wild dogs and wild boars are often sighted in the mornings and evenings. Birds like black birds, kites, hornbills and many smaller varieties are frequent visitors. Rare insects like the Atlas Moth are seen in abundance. Wild orchids, giant tree ferns, rhododendrons, etc. are also in plenty around the place.

No wonder, the National Geographic Society chose Kerala as one of the 50 must-see destinations. The most popular tourist destination in Kerala is Munnar, situated at the confluence of three mountain rivulets, at a height of 1600 meters.

ACCESS
Kochi, the Queen of the Arabian Sea, from ancient times, and the present industrial and commercial capital of Kerala, is also one of the finest natural harbors. Cherai Beach, Bolghatty, Vyppin, Gundu and Willington Islands, two well-packed museums, and Chinese Fishing Nets attract thousands of visitors. The Dutch Palace, the Santha Cruz Basilica, St. Francis Church, and the Jewish Synagogue all have five centuries of history behind them. From Kochi (international airport at Nedumbassery near Kochi) Munnar is 115 kms away, along NH-49.

From the Temple City of Madurai, in Tamilnadu, on the banks of the legendary Vaigai River, also you can reach Munnar traveling 170 kms along the same highway from the other side. Madurai is the cradle of the ancient Dravidian culture. The Madurai Meenakshi Temple and several other temples and palaces make this city a world wonder in ancient architecture. The millions of sculptures that cover the temple and palace walls are the finest pieces of ancient art.

From Kumarakom the capital of backwaters tourism, in Kottayam district, you can travel along the state highway and reach Munnar, 165 kms away. On the way are the tourist destinations of Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, Ramakkalmedu, Anayirankal Lake, etc., forming parts of the newly announced tourism circuit.

Camelot Camp Home is 8 kms away from Munnar town along the Munnar-Mankulam road. Buses and taxi vehicles will take you to Lachmi, at 6 kms distance, and the last 2 kms can be covered in jeep / land rover.
