| THERAPEUTIC
VOMITTING : Artificially induced vomitting should be
approached with care. If we strain ourselves to vomit ,it can
damage our nerve reflexes. It is possible to learn to do it
for ourselves with a little patience and practice. It can be
done on a basis to cleanse the intestine. PURGATION:
It is the simplest of the panchakarma method and it is easy
to see its effects. A strong pugative is given - rhubarh,ginger
and licorine and taken 2-5 gms. Purgation is used to eliminate
high pitta.This therapy can be used whenever we need to cleanse
the intestine
REJURVATION (RASAYANA): is
a specialform of tonification therapy. It properly follows
deep cleansing like 'panchakarma', and the elimination of
the excess humours from the body. Rejurvation diet is the
same as tonification diet. The herbal treatment is largely
the same as well. Emphasis is on substances to increase 'Ojas'
(primary vitality) and improve 'Sattva' (mental clarify).
NASAL APPLICATION OF HERBS :
Ayurveda lists a whole variety of herbal preparations, including
decotions oils, ghee and the smoking of herbs for direct action
on the nasal passage.'Nasya',and 'kabha' disorders. It allows
direct action on prana and brain. |
